Need superior durability?
Garden Master sheds have been trusted across New Zealand since 1974, designed and manufactured with strength, durability and long-term performance in mind. Wind tunnel testing confirmed what 50 years of Kiwi backyards already told us – our sheds are built to stay put.
Every standard Garden Master shed uses a channel-type framing system that caps the sheeting and forms a tension membrane when installed correctly. In testing, a standard shed with no upgrades or added reinforcements withstood sustained winds of up to 150 km/h – conditions well beyond what most backyard sheds will ever face.
Built for rugged New Zealand conditions, the Storm Series framing upgrade adds reinforced internal framing, giving your shed extra rigidity and strength where it counts. If you’re building near the coast, on an exposed site or in an extreme wind zone, it’s the smart choice for long-term durability. In the same wind tunnel testing, a shed fitted with the SureFrame handled sustained winds of well over 175 km/h with no signs of damage.

Built for the rugged New Zealand conditions, the Storm Series is engineered with reinforced aluminium framing. Whether you’re building near the coast, on an exposed site, or in a high wind zone, these sheds are a no-brainer for durability.
Unlike timber, aluminium is a engineered material, so it doesn’t come with nature’s weak spots. The frame resists corrosion, moisture, and rot, and is far less prone to warping, cracking, twisting, or shrinking. Wind tested to handle New Zealand’s high wind zones, it’s built to stand strong when the weather turns.
New Zealand’s weather doesn’t hold back, and neither did our testing. Our standard shed held strong under sustained winds of up to 150 km/h – well beyond anything a backyard shed will ever face – with no frame, no upgrades and no reinforcements. Fitted with our Storm Series SureFrame upgrade, that same strength climbed to over 175 km/h with no signs of defect or damage.
Because New Zealand’s wind zones vary so much from site to site, your frame matters. That’s why we offer the Storm Series framing upgrades, so your shed can be matched to the conditions your section actually faces.
When choosing a garden shed, strength matters. You want to know your shed is built to protect your tools, gear and outdoor investments through the changing conditions Kiwi backyards can face. That’s why Garden Master carried out genuine wind tunnel testing at Insol in Invercargill, putting our sheds under sustained wind pressure to better understand how they perform under serious force.
That strength starts with the steel. Our high tensile sheet steel is thicker than that of many of our competitors, receiving three coatings on both sides to ensure maximum protection from corrosion. Formed into a deep ribbed profile, this high tensile steel provides the inherent strength of your shed, with closely spaced ribs and heavy gauge channels forming a strong panel that acts as a tension membrane once assembled.
For over 50 years, Garden Master sheds have been trusted across New Zealand. Since 1974, we’ve designed and manufactured our sheds with strength, durability and long-term performance in mind – and wind tunnel testing has only confirmed what we already knew: our sheds are built to stay put.
Five decades of hard graft doing the things you love. We know the strength of our steel because we roll-form it ourselves, right here in our own factory. If anything fails, our 50 year warranty has your back. Read more on our warranty here.
Our SureFrame upgrade includes an internal support structure designed for shelving and storage systems, giving you a solid foundation to line out and fit your shed exactly how you need it. With complete aluminium framing throughout, you’re set up to make the most of the space inside – from custom shelving to full storage systems.
Which FRAME UPGRADE is right for you?
A standard shed is ideal for everyday backyard storage in most residential and metro settings. If your site is exposed, coastal, rural or in a high-wind zone – or you just want extra strength and peace of mind – step up to the Storm Series framing system. Storm Series comes in two options: QuickFrame and SureFrame.
Both are available for upgrade on all standard models. Read more about each below.
Strength where it matters most.
QUICKFRAME is built with aluminium framing for the centre of the shed and the door opening. That means you have extra strength and stability in the areas that experience the greatest movement.
